You don't want your kids to eat too much, so you say all the cookies are gone. You don't feel like going out, so you tell your date something important came up. You're overloaded with errands, so you call in sick.

Lies, all of them -- but we don't really like calling them that. In a new Associated Press-Ipsos poll, over half of respondents said lying was never justified. Yet in the same poll, up to two-thirds said it was OK to lie in certain situations, for instance, protecting someone's feelings.

Apparently white lies are an acceptable, even necessary, part of many lives -- even though we dislike the idea of lying.

It has been said that God is real. I am curious to see if this is true. In my reading of the Bible I have read some points on prayer.

Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16

In Mark 9:23:
All things are possible to him who believes.
In Luke 1:37:
For with God nothing will be impossible.

Since all things are possible to him who believes, and for with God nothing will be impossible, could we pray for something that logically God could do, to reveal himself to us.


Lets pray this, Dear God, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, we pray to you to cure every case of cancer on this planet tonight. We pray in faith, knowing you will bless us as you describe in Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

In my church (Presbyterian) some members are always treating our pastor (a very good one) as an employee, watching all that he and his family are doing and demanding him about the time he spends in his vacations, the use of church facilities (such PC´s)., etc., just because they think that it is their tithes that are paying his "salary". They are not bad people but in my oppinion they are shortsighted and they dont know better. I feel that he and his family suffer on account of this situation. I´m going to write an article in our bulettin about the subject. I dont want to hurt anybody, just to open their eyes. I also need some Bible verses to back me up.

I have a fantastic idea for an addition to automobiles. (It's the next "intermittant wipers" big idea! Actually, it has nothing to do with wipers, that was just a idea-scale reference.)

Anyway, Everyone says its a fantastic idea, and they'd love for their car to have this feature. I need to talk to a patent attorney (preferably local to the D/FW Metroplex) and find out what I need to do to get the ball rolling.

The only problem: I'm broke. I don't really have any cash to retain a lawyer. Any ideas?
